Well, that was a MAJOR success...

The children are safely returned to Alcott and had a wonderful time.

The day was terrific for all of us, and I thought we should share here what our thoughts are. What is your favorite moment? What was the funniest moment? What made you the most proud to bring the children to OU?

Yes, the start was NOT ideal. But the kids had no idea what our original smooth plan was, so they didn't truly realize.

I loved seeing the children ask all of you questions. And when I handed out lunch tickets, I heard things like "can I choose more than one thing" and "I can have SECONDS?" They were so thrilled about lunch and the choices. And I am so thrilled to send them back with full bellies and hearts.

Ms. Burnett says (I spoke with her tonight) they all want to go to college, to OU. They LOVED their time with us and want to come back soon....to see you all and campus.

It was such a great day!

Yes, this turned out to be a wounderful day with the kids. Everything worked out good. I had alot of fun with the kids as they had fun touring the campus. This is something I think the RHT classes should do more often with different schools!!

Everything turned out great!! At times it was crazy...but it all turned out good. I believe it impact the kids alot. I couldnt beilieve that the kids were telling me how their parents told them that college is not a big deal, I couldnt believe it. It was cute listening to what they wanted to be when they grow up. It was alot of fun!!!

My favorite moment was seeing the kid’s faces when we went to the game room in the OC. All of them wanted to stay and play games. The funniest moment I experienced was when a girl asked me what HIV was and if she could get it. I had no idea what to say and almost started laughing. I told her that was something that your parents should talk to you about but there is nothing to be afraid of. Overall the tour was a success and I really enjoyed it.

It was a really nice experience listening to the kids get really excited about how they all want to come here for college. The funniest/strangest moment one of the little girls asked me about HIV... it was way from left field. What made me most proud about bringing the children to OU was to show them that they can come here, and it's so diverse they don't have to worry about racism or anything. Lots of the children asked how many Mexicans come here etc and when I told them a lot of different people are integrated here they got really excited.
